Date for Super Six set to be announced

Lagos - A top official at the Nigeria Women Football League has revealed to News24 that the venue and date for the 2014/15 Premier League Super Six championship will soon be announced.

Rumours had circulated in some sections of the media that Akure and Lokoja were considered as possible venues for the tourney.

The Super Six tournament will decide the true champion of the keenly contested abridged league of 16 teams.

Reigning league champions Rivers Angels, 2014 Federation Cup runners-up Sunshine Queens, 2012/13 league winners Nasarawa Amazons, 2011/12 champions Delta Queens, Bayelsa Queens and Confluence Queens will battle for the coveted trophy.

“A venue and date for the competition will be in full consultations with everyone. Be rest assured that in the next one week you will all be informed of the decision of the board,” the official told News24.
