Lisbon - Flamingoes defender, Mary Ologbosere has assured Nigerians that she and her teammates will bring the FIFA U17 women’s World Cup trophy back to Nigeria come April 4th.
With no African country yet to reach the semi-finals of the U17 Women’s World Cup, Ologbosere who plays for Nigeria Women Premier League side, Ibom Angels believes the country has what it takes to win the World Cup.
"Yes, we can win the World Cup, I believe with me and my teammates we can achieve that. I'm very sure, we can bring back home the trophy to Nigeria," she assured.
On Nigeria's advantage over other 15 opponents at the World Cup, Ologbosere noted that, "We have a good defense, midfield and goalkeeper and for that I think the team will do better than others.”
While sharing memories on the opportunity representing the country at the World Cup despite late drop for the last edition, she said "I'm very happy because even when I was invited to the camp in 2012,I couldn't make the team, but for this time I'm sure everything is possible, I'm grateful to God that I made the team this time."
