Lagos - Nigeria's U23 team, the Dream Team VI will play in
group B of the 2015 CAF U23 Africa Cup of Nations, News24 reports.
After the draws which was held at the CAF headquarters in
Cairo, Egypt, the Nigerians were drawn in group B, alongside Egypt, Algeria and
The competition, which serves as Africa's qualifiers to the
Olympic Games, will be staged in Senegal this year, after the maiden edition
held in Morocco in 2011.
It was initially named the CAF U23 Championship, but was
rebranded on August 6, to the CAF U23 Africa Cup of Nations, in a bid to

Champions from the first edition, Gabon, have failed to
qualify, and will miss out on the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, in
Group A, as expected, comprises of hosts, Senegal, South
Africa, Zambia and Tunisia.
The draw was conducted by CAF Secretary General Hicham El
Amrani and assisted by CAF Executive Committee member Amadou Diakite.
The final tournament will take place from 28 November to 12
December 2015 in the Senegalese cities of Dakar and M’Bour.
It will be an opportunity for Nigeria to return to the
Olympic Games, after failing to qualifying in 2011.
The team is presently in Congo Brazaville, participating at
the 11th All Africa Games, which has been serving as preparations for the CAF
U23 Africa Cup of Nations.For
