Abuja - Two Somali nationals alleged to have targeted Nigeria’s World Cup qualifier against Ethiopia were killed when a bomb they intended for the match went off prematurely.
The bomb went off in an apartment in the Bole district, a mere five kilometres from the Addis Ababa National Stadium, Kick Off Nigeria reports.
A government official, Shimeles Kemal, said the two men planned to gain access to the stadium disguised as Ethiopia fans.
They planned to detonate the explosive in a crowded area inside the stadium, he added.
