Abuja - The U-17 National Team, the Golden Eaglets, on Sunday trashed the Junior Eagles of Mali 2-0 in Bamako, Mali, to book a ticket for the next year's African Youth Championship (AYC).

The Manu Garba's tutored side had on Nov. 18, whipped their Malian counterpart in the first leg in Calabar and now qualifies on 4-0 aggregate.

Bernard Bulbwa dashed the home crowd's hope of a comeback by netting in the second goal in the 55th minute.

NAN reports that Morocco will be Nigeria’s first outing at the Championship since it lifted the trophy in Togo in 2007.

The Golden Eaglets failed to qualify for the 2009 championship that took place in Algeria and the 2011 finals held in Rwanda.

The other countries that have qualified for the 2013 championship are Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Tunisia, Congo-Brazzaville and host Morocco.

The draw for the championship will be in Cairo on December 9 and the championship will hold from April 13 to 27.
