Paris - Nigeria defender Elderson Echiejile could not hide his delight following Monaco's 1-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League on Tuesday.
The Ligue 1 outfit returned to the continental competition after an eight-year absence, during which they were also relegated to the second tier of French football.
Echiejile sat out the clash after picking up a knock while on national duty in the recent 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa.

He took to Twitter to celebrate Joao Moutinho's goal, which sealed the victory over their German counterparts at Stade Louis II.
"What a way to begin the Champions League, well done boys, great result, Aller Monaco," the jubilant Super Eagles full-back posted.The 26-year-old is being troubled by pain around his groin and hip, and has been doing light training away from the rest of the squad while he continues his recovery.
