Emetiole Labels ElKanemi Return A Rescue Mission

16 August 2015, 09:09

Umuahia - Elkanemi Warriors FC coach, Kelechi Emetiole may have been considered by the management of the northern based team if Emetiole's response after a slim loss at the Umuahia Township stadium to Abia Warriors FC in a week 23 NPFL tie is considered.

Emetiole brought the Desert Warriors back to the elite league in 2011 and he has just been given the top job again after a series of poor form recorded by Elkanemi Warriors.

They sit 12th on the Nigeria Professional Football League log and they might go few steps lower depending on the result of teams below them later today in the remaining week 23 NPFL matches; Elkanemi Warriors have also lost to Enugu Rangers in the Federation Cup quarter final but Emetiole echoed after the one nil loss on the road to Abia Warriors that his second coming to El-Kanemi Warriors is focussed at helping the club maintain its NPFL status this season and take it a step higher next season.

"Though we shall rebuild next season but at this time, I'm here on a rescue mission to help the club. I just came in few days back but we hope to practice more and perfect our plans as we head into our next matches,"Emetiole told News24 after the match in Umuahia.
