Emordi: Title ambition still on course

11 August 2014, 16:29

Lagos - Kano Pillars coach Okey Emordi insists that the 3-0 bashing his side were dealt by Sunshine Stars on Sunday will not derail their title ambitions.

A brace from Musa Newman and a late cracker from Prince Agrrey gave the Akure Gunners a comprehensive win over Kano Pillars. But Emordi is undeterred by the setback which, as he believes the Club's target pf winning the league for a third consecutive year is still on course.

"This is football. I didn't expect this type of result but there is nothing we can do about that now," Emordi said after the game.

Emordi argued that luck was on the side of the opponents on the day, while assuring fans of Sai Mesu Gida that their title ambition is still on course.

"I cannot say our title hopes have been dashed, the result hurt us but we will go back and strengthen observed weaknesses," he said.

In spite of the loss, Kano Pillars still sit atop the Glo Premier League table with 37 points from 22 games.
