Enugu Rangers fans exhibit new confidence

05 August 2015, 10:05

Lagos - Fans of Nigeria Premier League club, Enugu Rangers have suddenly found a new confidence in the Flying Antelope who they feel may make a statement this season with a silverware.

Enugu Rangers are still going on strong in the 2015 Federation Cup and a consistent form may propel their 10th position as at week 20 to the top three by the end of the season. However, the fans have stated that the performance of the team has brought more fans to the stadium.

"Before now we were very sad to see our team (Rangers) in the relegation zone but since our assistant coach, Imama Amakapabo took over, the result has been encouraging,” a fan, Uzoh told News24.

As he spoke to News24 more fans moved closer, wanting to express their feeling about their team.

"This number of fans that came out to see Rangers play is surprising. I thought not many of them will show up against Enyimba but that didn't happen. Do you know that everywhere was fillled. The result the team has been getting lately has brought more of us fans out to cheer Rangers and we hope that they will continue this way so that we can celebrate at the end of the season," Uche screamed

Rangers will host FC Taraba on Wednesday in a Glo Premier League week 21 tie today at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium.  Both teams started the second stanza on a positive note, FC Taraba won their first game after seventeen matches without win, while Rangers force Enyimba to share the spoils in Aba.
