Esiti revels in debut performance for Super Eagles

Abuja - Nigeria midfielder Anderson Esiti has described as a good feeling, his first start for the Super Eagles.

The 21-year debuted and started for the former African champions as they began their qualifying campaign for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations and was commanding in the Super Eagles midfield says he felt good when he was told he would start the game.

“It was a good feeling,” he says, “Coming here for the first time and starting the game definitely made me feel good and was definitely something to be proud of.

“I am proud to be a Nigerian and I am proud to be playing for my country,” he stated.

Speaking further, the Estoril of Portugal midfielder also told News24 that he has come to stay in the Super Eagles.

“I want to believe I have come to stay, yes,” he said, “I want to play more games for the team and I hope the coach gives me a call more often because I want to come here and show what I can do.

“I hope the way I played on Saturday will make the coaches give me more opportunities to play for Nigeria because I’m really happy to represent my fatherland,” he added.
