Lagos - Striker Oghenekaro Etebo has finally left the camp
of the Super Eagles three days after he was dropped from the squad that will
represent Nigeria at the 2014 African Nations Championship in South Africa.
Coach Stephen Keshi released a final list of 23 players on Tuesday,
leaving out the Warri Wolves forward, but the player has remained in camp and
training with the team.
All hope of featuring at the CHAN tournament has now lost as
media officer of the Super Eagles, Ben Alaiya told News24 Nigeria that Etebo has left the team camp in Abuja on Friday
“Etebo is no more with us in camp, he left this (Friday) morning”,
Alaiya told News24 Nigeria.
The Super Eagles will take on Ethiopia in an international
friendly on Saturday before jetting out to South Africa ahead of their opening
game against Mali on January 11.
