Abuja - The Secretary of FCT Football Association, Ibrahim Abdullahi, said that lack of fund was hampering activities of the association.
"The league is in dire need of sponsors,’’ Abdullahi said at the FCT League venue in Area 3, Abuja on Thursday.
"As an association, we are doing the best we can with the little available fund.
"Grass-roots football is an important avenue where one can engage the youth in the FCT.
"I think it is high time the government, multi-national companies, private individuals and philanthropists joined hands together to support our league,’’ he said.
He urged sponsors to watch league matches to see the talents that abound in the FCT.
"We would like them (sponsors) to come and see these young boys themselves.
"Most of those that play in the league are still in secondary schools and cannot afford to pay their fees.
"There is nothing wrong in assisting some of them with scholarships,’’ Abdullahi said.
