FIFA sends Nigeria final warning

09 September 2014, 18:30Israel Ojoko

Lagos - Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has handed Nigeria a final warning concerning the impasse that has beclouded the country’s football administration.

FIFA in a letter signed by Secretary General Jerome Valcke, sent to the recognized president of the Nigeria Football Federation Aminu Maigari on Tuesday September 9, 2014, and forwarded to News24 Nigeria, noted that it is aware the management of the NFF have been able to return to office and work without hindrance.

FIFA also noted that persons claiming to have been elected have vacated the premises of NFF, hence Nigeria is no more under suspension threat.

FIFA however warned that “should the electoral process be affected by any interference or mishap, the case will be referred again – and without any prior notice or warning – to the appropriate FIFA bodies for immediate suspension of the NFF until the next FIFA congress.”

NFF will now hold a general congress where date will be fixed for election.
