Fabianski looks to bounce back

31 December 2014, 10:59

Abuja - Swansea City goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski is expecting his side to get back to winning ways in the New Year after finishing 2014 in ninth place.

The Swans lost 4-1 to Liverpool on Monday in the last round of Premier League fixtures for the year. It was a disappointing result for the Welsh side, but their Polish keeper is looking to put the defeat at Anfield behind them with a win in their next game, aganist QPR on New Year's Day.

"The best response we can give is to bounce back," he told the club’s official website. "We'll prepare well and hopefully put on a good performance.

"We are disappointed with the Liverpool result. And obviously I'm disappointed with myself for the mistake which gave them a goal," he said, referring to a clearance which hit Adam Lallana and bounced back into his own net.

"It was a bad decision to kick across instead of straight down the middle, and that is one that I'll learn from in the future."

Swansea travel to Loftus Road on January 1, and Fabianski is confident of their chances against Harry Rednkapp’s side. "We now head into the QPR game looking to get maximum points," he concluded.
