Ottawa - Falconets coach Peter Dedevbo is looking forward to
a battle with Korea when both sides clash in the semifinal of the FIFA U20
Women’s World Cup on Wednesday.
Dedevbo has not beaten the Koreans after two meetings at the
U17 level, but said he is set to break the jinx.
“My team has played against the Koreans twice in 2010 and
2012 U-17 tournaments in which Nigeria lost, but this time around it will be a
different ball game.”
Dedevbo, who has not gone beyond the quarterfinals in a FIFA
tournament, broke the jinx when his side defeated New Zealand 4-1 on Sunday to
qualify for the semifinals of the U20 World Cup.
