Fatai leading Nigeria strikers in Europe

23 October 2015, 20:42

Prague - Sparta Praha of Czech Republic forward Kehinde Fatai further enhanced his credentials as Nigeria’s hottest striker in Europe, with a goal in his team 2-2 draw with Schalke 04 in the Europa League.

The goal was his second in the tournament and his seventh overall this season, after netting 5 times in the league.

25 year old Fatai was stopped by FIFA from representing Romania, as even though he has the country's passport he wasn't eligible for them when he played for the junior team of Nigeria.

The former JUTH FC of Jos forward has however been snubbed by Nigeria even though his goals per game ratio is far better than some players, who have played in the Super Eagles in the years under review.

However there is hope he might be handed a call up by new Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh, with reports indicating he is under the watchful eye of the coach in a view to being included in Nigeria's next competitive game.

Since moving to Europe in 2008 the dark skinned forward ‎has scored 48 goals in the domestic league he has played in which includes Romania, Belgium and now Czech Republic.
