Abuja - The semi-final matches of this year’s Federation Cup competition will hold at the U.J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar and the Ilorin Township Stadium, the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) has said.
According to a statement on Wednesday in Abuja by the association’s Chief Media Officer, Ademola Olajire, no dates were however yet fixed for the matches.
This year’s third-place and final matches in the competition would hold at the Teslim Balogun Stadium at Surulere in Lagos on Sunday, Aug. 26.
Cup holders Heartland FC of Owerri who qualified after a 2-0 win over Crown FC of Ogbomosho in Port Harcourt on Monday will take on Lobi Stars of Makurdi in Ilorin.
Lobi Stars who beat Sharks FC of Port Harcourt 3-1 at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi on Monday face a tough game against Heartland.
The Owerri side had defeated Enyimba International FC 1-0 to lift the trophy last year.
At the U.J. Esuene Stadium, Prime FC of Osogbo will confront Kano Pillars who edged out Plateau United of Jos 3-2 at the Agege Stadium in Lagos on Monday.
Prime FC had in Ibadan same day won 2-0 against Enyimba International who were the 2009 champions of the competition.
