The draws for the group stage of this year’s Federation Cup competition will hold in Abuja on Friday, the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) said in a statement on Thursday.
The statement by its Chief Media Officer, Ademola Olajire, quoted Dr Mohammed Sanusi, Director of Competitions, as saying that arrangements were in place for the event among 16 clubs.
He said that after the four groups would have played the quarter-finals and the semi finals, the final would hold Lagos.
``Also to be revealed at Friday’s draws will be the four centres for the group stage matches as well as the centres for the quarter-finals and the venues for the two semi-final matches,'' it said.
The statement said that performances in the past two editions of the competition would go a long way in determining the teams to be seeded for the group stage scheduled for July 16 and July 20.
The teams for the tournament are Heartland FC of Owerri, Enyimba FC of Aba, Rangers International FC of Enugu, Sharks FC of Port Harcourt, Wolves FC of Warri, Plateau United FC of Jos and Kano Pillars.
Others are Lobi Stars of Makurdi, Kwara United of Ilorin, Gombe United of Gombe, Crown FC of Ogbomosho, Prime FC of Oshogbo, Dynamite Force of Benin City, El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri, Nasarawa United of Lafia and Samba FC of Enugu.
