Fit again Lillestrom striker Fred Friday hopes to end goal drought

28 July 2015, 17:11

Oslo - Lillestrom striker Fred Friday has admitted that his form dipped over the last two months because he had to play through the pain barrier.

For the first time in nine Tippeligaen matches, the youngster was given a run-out for 90 minutes by manager Rúnar Kristinsson in The Canaries 2-0 loss to Valerenga on Monday night.

''We played really well in the first half but in the second half we made two mistakes that resulted to the goals we conceded,'' Fred Friday told news24.

''I was injured for eight weeks, I was not a hundred percent fit.

''At least I am happy that I am fully back and I am hoping to score this weekend.''

Fred Friday is yet to find the back of the net in the Norwegian topflight since he scored a hat-trick against Mjøndalen on April 30.

Including yesterday's clash in Oslo, the 20-year - old is yet to end his goal drought after 9 hours and 36 minutes of football.
