Lisbon - Coach of Nigeria National U17 Women’s team, Bala Nkiyu
says he will feature the best players at his disposal when hostilities begin at
the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.
The Flamingoes continued their impressive run in their
preparation for the tournament with a 5-1 victory over Portuguese’s women club,
ClubeFutebolBenfica in an international friendly match after earlier 3-2 win
over Sporting Heulva and a 3-1 spanking of Portuguese’s CDR Quarteirense U14
Nkiyu saluted the impressive show and sterling performance
of his players against the ClubeFutebolBenfica and expressed confidence that he
and his technical crew are keen on ensuring Nigeria parades one of the
strongest team at the World Cup.
“I’m delighted with the girls’ performance. They played
according to instructions and gave us the deserved victory”.
“We have developed better in our understanding as a team and
hope to grow in strength as we close in on competition,” he said.
Nkiyu in his assessment of the team’s creation and
conversion of chances after the game said the players have improved incredibly
well, though hinted more is expected of them.
The Nigeria U17 women will play Belgium U17 women national
team in Brussels on Tuesday, March 4th in a friendly match.
