Christchurch - Flying Eagles have crashed out of the FIFA U20 World Cup after losing 1-0 to Germany at the Round of 16.
A 19 minute goal from Öztunali was all the Europeans needed to qualify for the quarterfinal.
Germany began the game more willing to win, and as a result were in control from the blast of the whistle, leaving Nigeria on the defensive.
Their effort soon paid off when Öztunali fired the Germans into lead.

Attempts by the Flying Eagles to level score met brick walls as the Germans were strong enough to avert any danger, bringing the first half to an end.
After the break, Nigeria, who were obviously struggling with the cold weather inside the Christchurch Stadium in Christchurch, resumed the second half with confidence, but that was easily dashed by Germany who continued from where the left off in the first half.
The African continued their search for an equalizer as the game approached its climax, but their inability to shoot at goal was their worst undoing.
Despite the added time, Nigeria could not break through the rock solid defense of Germany, as they exit the tournament.
