Former Golden Eaglet testing with Bosnia champions

08 July 2015, 11:10

Sarajevo - 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup top scorer Sani Emmanuel, is currently testing with Bosnia champions SK Sarajevo in a bid to get his career back on track after so many disappointments.

The former My People Academy of Lagos ace last season turned out for both Israeli side Beitar Jerusalem and Sweden second division side Oskarshamns AIK, scoring twice from a combined tally of 5 games for both teams.

Emmanuel joined Italian giants Lazio in 2012 on the back of scoring five times to clinch the golden boot at the Under-17 World cup, hosted by Nigeria in 2009 but after two years he was released by the Rome based team without making a single appearance for their main team.

He was loaned out twice in his two year stay with the Rome based team but, he failed to make good use of his time at Serie B side Salernitana 1919 and Switzerland FC Biel-Bienne.

After the disappointments of last season, he hopes to impress the technical crew of the team and join fellow former Nigeria youth international Harmony Akande who joined the team yesterday as well.
