Godwin Saviour set for KV Oostende debut

22 August 2015, 17:05

Abuja - Nigeria under-23 international Godwin Saviour has completed his move to KV Oostende following a successful medical.

At the end of July, the Belgian Pro League side had announced that they had struck terms with the owners of the winger's economic rights, FC Sports of Jos, but the player could not formalize his transfer to the club until now due to commitments with the Nigeria Under 23 national team.

Under the terms of the agreement between the parties, Godwin Saviour will join KV Oostende on a season - long loan, with the Belgian club having an option to buy him outright next summer.

Saviour, who is celebrating his 19th birthday today, will make his unofficial debut on Saturday in a friendly against SV Roeselare, the club have announced on their official webpage.

It had been claimed that Anderlecht and Club Brugge were in the frame for his signature before he agreed terms with the Albertparkstadion outfit.

Godwin Saviour put himself in the shop window after scoring 2 goals from 4 matches for the Flying Eagles at the 2015 Fifa Under 20 World Cup.
