Lagos - Heartland captain Chinedu Efugh has said he hopes to return to action in a Nigeria League Week 4 clash at Gombe United next week.
Efugh, an experienced campaigner who could play as a central defender and defensive midfielder, has not played for Heartland this season due to a knee injury he suffered in a pre-season game.
"I am disappointed that I haven't played for my team in this season, but I can't help it because I am injured,” Efugh disclosed.
“I have a knee problem but I am getting back, it is certain I won't play against Sharks on Friday, but I am looking forward to gaining my full fitness before our Week 4 game against Gombe United."
Efugh returned to Owerri on Tuesday after his rehabilitation in Jos.
Heartland drew their opening week game with Dolphins at home before they lost 1-0 at newly promoted Crown FC in Ibadan.
