29 June 2015, 16:35

Friesland - SC Heerenveen defender Kenneth Otigba can't wait to start kicking a ball again after spending his summer vacation with his family in Croatia.

He is now back in Friesland for the start of pre - season training which begins on Monday, with the team having a three-day get-together in Garderen, a village in central Holland.

''I spent my vacation at Rab Island, Croatia together with my family. I missed football and really look forward to the start of the season,'' Kenneth Otigba said to news24

''I'm going on a training camp with the Heerenveen squad today in Holland, it's only for three days.''

In the next two days, Otigba who has committed his international future to Nigeria, will enter the final twelve months of his contract with Heerenveen and a departure from the Abe Lenstra Stadium this summer can't be ruled out entirely.

''I have one more year left, we will see what will happen. If I remain I want to play all the games played by the club next season and the target is to end up at least six in the league.

''I am really looking forward to play for the Super Eagles. I hope we beat Egypt in the pool and qualify for the African Cup of Nations,'' the ex Hungary U17 skipper concluded.

Over the course of last season, Kenneth Otigba represented Heerenveen 28 times (18 starts) in the Eredivisie.
