Accra - The Ghana national team returned home to a rousing welcome as hundreds of fans gathered to applaud their stars from the just ended 2015 Afcon in Equatorial Guinea, SuperSport reports.
The Black Stars settled for silver after suffering defeat to Ivory Coast 9-8 in a nervy penalty shootout after both sides failed to outscore each other after 120 minutes of gruelling football in the finals of the competition.
The gallant Black Stars team were welcomed by vice president of Ghana Amissah Arthur upon arrival at the vip lounge of the Kotoka International Airport on Monday afternoon.

“The playing body and the technical team have made all of us proud, we didn’t expect the team to go far and we did.
“The entire Nation wants you to keep your head up and cheer up because you were the best among the rest of the team’s, we are glad you didn’t fail but you made a statement for us all to see,” H.E Amissah Arthur said.
On behalf of the team, captain Asamoah Gyan thanked the nation for their special support and head coach Avram Grant for his impact on the team within a short time.
