Lisbon - Emmanuel Ibok Edet has expressed his delight at
sealing a move to Portuguese Segunda Liga side Clube Desportivo das Aves.
The central defender, who last turned out for Maltese club
Naxxar Lions, has signed a one - year contract with C.D Aves.
In his first words after completing the move, Ibok Edet told
news24: ''I left Malta because every player wants to move forward in his
career. I chose CD Aves because I had a good agreement with them.

''The prospect of being coached by Abel Xavier played a role
in my decision to join the club.
''The objective is to be promoted at the end of the season
and we have the players that can take the team to the Primeira Liga.''
Edet has spent about a week training with his new teammates
and should take part in his third pre - season friendly on Wednesday against
