Ideye regrets Eagles miss

23 March 2015, 11:17

London - Nigeria international striker, Brown Ideye will not be part of the Super Eagles squad when they face South Africa and Uganda in international friendly matches later this month, Supersport reports.

The 26-year-old was called up to the Nigeria squad and was looking forward to his comeback after sitting out the 2014 Fifa World Cup.

His plans were however altered following an injury which ruled him out of West Bromwich Albion’s 0-3 Barclays English Premier League loss to champions, Manchester City on Saturday.

The injury also means he will not be fit enough to participate in Nigeria’s upcoming friendly internationals against Uganda and South Africa.

He took to Twitter on Sunday to express his sadness at the development.

“It is sad due to injury that am not on a flight today to join my teammate and friends in Eagles camp. Spending quality time with my family to ease the pain in my body and heart #Bittersweet,” he tweeted via @OfficialIdeye.
