Abuja - Acting Chairman of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF)
Disciplinary Committee, Iyke Igbokwe has enthused that the Golden Eaglets are
steadily on course towards qualification for the 2015 CAN U17 Championship.
Speaking against the backdrop of the team's last week double
win against Egypt in Kaduna, Igbokwe said he was impressed with their performance
despite obvious lapses.
"Frankly, this is an evolving team," noted the
firebrand Igbokwe during a chit-chat with officials." It would be unfair
to be asking you guys to raise a perfect team under one month but I believe
this team can only get better."
Igbokwe said his optimism was borne out of the fact that the
technical crew under Coach Emmanuel Amuneke (MON) have been painstaking and rigorous
in selection of players amongst other things.
Igbokwe's was equally corroborated by former Nigerian
international, shaya Jatau who praised the NFF for entrusting the Eaglets in
the hands of Amuneke.
"It was nice that the NFF brought the Eaglets to play
in Kaduna and it afforded us to see the new boys being put in place," said
the coach of Kaduna-based Dynamic Sports Solution."Without any doubt, the
coaching crew is on course and I'm really impressed with what I've seen."
Both Igbokwe and Jatau in the meantime, asked
for continuous support to the team from Nigerians.
