The 26-year old has scored four goals this season, making him one of the league's top scorers at the end of September, a development which has earned him nomination on the list.

Ighalo will however have to contend with eleven other players for the award, which also includes Andre Ayew, Ashley Williams and Bafetimbi Gomis (Swansea); Vincent Kompany and David Silva (Man. City); Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy (Leicester City); Anthony Martial (Man. Utd); Dmitri Payet (West Ham); Graziano Pelle (Southampton); and Callum Wilson (Bournemouth).

Ighalo is however the only Watford player on the list. He also had a fantastic season last year, scoring 20 goals for Watford in the Championship.
