Imoh Ezekiel takes Standard Liège to Europe

25 May 2015, 16:47

Brussels - Imoh Ezekiel scored for Belgian club, Standard Liège in a 2-0 win over Sporting Charleroi in the Belgian League playoffs on Sunday, Supersport reports.

Imoh’s turn off pace following a pass from teammate, François Penneteau saw him outsmart the Sporting Charleroi defence before he slammed home past goalkeeper, Nicolas Penneteau in the 26th minute.

The win for Standard at Stade Maurice Dufrasne was enough to see the club qualify for the Uefa Europa League via the qualification route as they finished in fourth place in the Playoff I – table with 40 points.

On a personal level, Imoh failed to reach the heights he reached in the 2013/14 season when he netted 12 league goals in 39 matches.

He scored six times in the league in 13 matches this term and will be looking to make a bigger impression next season.

Imoh is currently on loan from Doha-based club, Al Arabi. The loan deal runs out on May 31.
