London - Daniel Sturridge will miss England's Euro 2016 qualifier against Lithuania on Friday with a hip injury.
The Liverpool striker will also sit out next week's friendly in Italy after returning to his club, the Football Association said late Monday night.
Sturridge sustained the injury in Sunday's 2-1 loss to Manchester United and was declared out after being assessed by England's medical team on Monday.

The 25-year-old has not played for England since September, when he suffered a thigh injury that sidelined him for an extended period.
Sturridge's absence leaves captain Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and uncapped Harry Kane as manager Roy Hodgson's attack options for the Group E match at Wembley Stadium. For the latest on national news, politics, sport, entertainment and more follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page.
