Abuja - President Goodluck Jonathan has hailed the senior women's football national team for winning the 2014 CAF African Women's Championship.
The President said the Super Falcons had done Nigeria proud after they brought the curtain down the tournament with a 2-0 victory over Cameroon in Windhoek, Namibia this past weekend.
“I am delighted at the victory of the Super Falcons at the CAF African Women's Championship. They have made Nigeria proud and demonstrated without doubt the great-can-do-spirit of the Nigerian,” the President said in a statement.

He said with the victory, the FIFA Women's World Cup was within reach and prayed for God to bless the team and the entire country.
“With this victory, the FIFA Women's World Cup is within reach. May God bless the Super Falcons and may He also forever bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
