08 July 2015, 10:09

Abuja - Joseph Mbong, 17, is hoping to bag a contract with Djurgardens IF after undergoing trials with the Allsvenskan side for most part of last week.

The Maltese - Nigerian striker has stated that the atmosphere at the Swedish club was conducive but has pointed out the differences he noticed between Swedish and Maltese football.

"I returned to Malta on Sunday, the trials went good. It was pretty intense,'' said Joseph Mbong to news24.com.

"I am going to be returning there for them to see me more. I'm not sure when I'm returning.

"The intensity and preparation, everything is perfectly scheduled although it was just a training."

The teenager enjoyed a breakthrough season with Hibernians in the 2014 - 2015 campaign, making 16 appearances for the champions in the Premier League.

Joseph Mbong has committed his international future to Malta after he was snubbed by the Nigeria Federation.
