After a drab 45 minutes, striker Ali Adamu scored the only goal of the match 13 minutes into the second half to to clinch victory for the team which is stuck at the bottom of the table.

Several efforts by the visitors to equalise were abortive, as the home side defended tenaciously to win the maximum points.

The victory has enhanced the position of the United team as they battle to pull away from the relegation zone, having found themselves at the foot of the log after 10 matches.

NAN reports that the new Chairman of the club, Sabo Babayaro has pledged that the team would earn a continental ticket at the end of the season.
