Abuja - Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi said anxiety is to blame for his team’s unimpressive play against Ethiopia.
Victor Moses and Obinna Nsofor Victor Moses and Obinna Nsofor ensured Nigeria booked a place at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, but the team’s performance was cause for concern for Keshi, Kick Off Nigeria reports.
The players suffered from anxiety, Keshi said. He added he needed to calm the players down as they found it difficult to focus under the strain of their desire to qualify.
Keshi said he was happy to qualify despite the lacklustre performance in their final qualification play-off match.
