Kwara United star set for return

23 June 2015, 19:07

Ilorin – Kwara United star Adeshina Issa Gata is on track to return from injury ahead of schedule in the next five days, according to News24 sources in Ilorin.

Kwara United chiefs had feared that Gata's knee injury, which he picked up in the 1-0 loss to Sunshine Stars at the Akure Township Stadium on May 20th, would keep the youngster out for up to two months.

The tricky lad could yet feature before match day 15 after being given the green light by medics to step up his comeback plans.

The news will come as a boost to beleaguered head coach Tunde Abdulrahman, whose squad has been decimated by injury in recent times.

Gata has now been given the all-clear to resume training, and he will hope to be able to make a massive impact in Kwara United's league campaign.

The starlet was instrumental to the Harmony Warriors' promotion back to the Premier League, after an excellent show in the 2013/14 Nigeria National League.

Before the knee setback, his contribution to Kwara United's progress in the 2014/15 league season has been hailed by pundits and advocates of the round leather game in Nigeria.
