FULL-TIME: Manchester United 0 - 3 Liverpool

16:21 90th min -
We're into stoppage time , two of the four have already expired. Liverpool fans singing their hearts out, United fans are leaving Old Trafford prematurely. Moyes will need his troops to pick up their heads before Olympiakos visit OT this week.

16:13 84th min -

16:07 78th min -
Vidic seems to bring down Sturridge in the United box, but replays show he didn't touch the Englishmen. Gerrard steps up to complete his hat-trick, but the skipper hits the ball onto the right hand upright.

16:04 75th min -
Gerrard has a chance to claim his hat-trick, but his shot takes a big deflection. Cleverely is replaced by Cleverely, while Janujaz makes way for Welbeck.

15:59 70th min -
20 minutes to go , Liverpool look good value for their 2-0 lead. Vidic recieves a yellow card and Sterling is replaced by Coutinho.

15:55 66th min -
Evra plays a sweet cross in from the left, the ball is headed out , Fellaini gets the ball on the edge of the box, he swipes his right foot at it and the ball goes flailing over the goals.

15:51 62nd min -
United need to score the next goal, Rooney is still upset over Liverpool's second penalty, but he needs to move on and try and help his team out of trouble.

5:46 57th min - The match was stopped in order for Daniel Agger to receive treatment for an eye injury he received. Play is back underway.

15:40 51st min - Right, after a frenetic opening five minutes to the second half, let me fill you in with what just happened: Phil Jones bundled into the back of Joe Allen and Mark Clattenburg awarded the second penalty of the match, which Gerrard duly slotted past De Gea to send the away fans into raptures.

15:35 46th min - Penalty! GOAL!!! Gerrard scores his second goal of the match.

15:34 45th min -

SAS kick-off and Liverpool are playing from left to right.

HALF-TIME: Manchester United 0 - 1 Liverpool

15:15 45th min -
Rooney has a great opportunity to equalise, when he rifles in a fierce shot. Mignolet is equal to the shot and stops with confidence. Rooney has another chance, but Skrtel puts his body on the line.

15:12 42nd min -
Van Persie, who has been non-existent this half has his shot deflected towards goal, Mignolet isn't phased though. 3 minutes to go till half-time.

15:06 36th min - GOAL!!!! Gerrard opens the scoring for LIVERPOOL!

15:05 35th min - Rafael handles the ball in the box, after Suarez traps from a beautiful cross.

15:03 32nd min -
Flanagan and Rafael get booked within a few seconds of each other, Rafaels reckless challenge on Gerrard was sickening to watch.

14:57 25th min -
No score after 25 minutes, the pace has slowed a bit. Battle in the midfield is starting to rear its head.

14:50 18th min
- Sturridge once again found himself in on goal, SAS is working like clock-work. These guys have serious telepathic vision. Sturridge scuffed his shot in the end. Still all Liverpool at the moment.

14:44 13th min
- United are using the right channel to their disposal, Brazilian Rafael is attacking down that side with Rooney pulling out of the middle to assist and float in one or two crosses. Good pace to the match so far, both teams looking for that early goal.

14:39 8th min -Liverpool have made the better start, Sturridge and Suarez both getting into the United box in the opening 10 minutes. SAS (Suarez and Sturridge) will be tormenting Jones and Vidic this afternoon.

14:36 5th min
- Corner to Liverpool after Phil Jones bundled Suarez over in the box, credit to the Uruguayan for staying on his feet.

14:33 2nd min - Daniel Sturridge found himself in on goal, Nemanja Vidic was reeling but Sturridge couldn't place his shot on target to trouble De Gea.

14:32 1st min - And we're off , Liverpool in their second strip white tops and black shorts and Manchester United in their traditional red tops and white short.

Manchester United:

Recent games

The home side came off a 3-0 win over West Bromwich Albion, one of their bogey teams. Marouane Fellaini's performance was a good sign for the club. Phil Jones, talisman Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck were on target at the Hawthorns. But United's loss to Olympiakos in the Champions League will still be fresh in the minds of fans and players. Liverpool will be a stern test for United.

Liverpool also strolled to a 3-0 away win, this time to Southampton. Luis Suarez , Raheem Sterling and captain fantastic Steven Gerrard were on the score sheet. Liverpool's defence hasn't been on point this season, and that clean-sheet against Southampton was one of very few this season. United will look to take advantage of Liverpool's leaky defence.

On Sunday one of the fiercest rivalries will get underway in Manchester when second-placed Liverpool travel to Old Trafford in the weekends biggest clash.

Liverpool are currently in second spot, and with 10 matches to go still have a very good chance of winning their first ever Premier League title in the modern era.

While Liverpool have had one of their best seasons this decade, winning 18 matches this season and scoring an amazing 73 goals (the most in Europe). United, under the leadership of ex-Everton boss David Moyes have found it difficult to build consistency in the league. The linger in sixth spot, 11 points behind Liverpool and will find it extremely difficult to earn a coveted European spot.

This fixture has always been an important fixture, lots of history between both clubs. But under Sir Alex Ferguson , this fixture was always played mostly when United were in the dominant position. In Ferguson's last season, United finished a massive 28 points ahead of Liverpool, but football is a fickle game and Moyes is feeling the pressure of being at one of the worlds biggest clubs.

United have a fantastic record at Old Trafford against the Liverpudlians, having won their previous eight encounters , losing one rather emphatically when one Fernando Torres played for Liverpool. You might remember him tormenting Nemanja Vidic on that sunny day.

One thing is for sure, United have a chance to derail Liverpool's stupendous season and put them further behind leaders Chelsea, who hold a seven point lead. It's going to be a fascinating match, it always is.
