LMC believes in CHAN Eagles

16 January 2014, 13:06

Lagos - The League Management Company (LMC) said the Super Eagles had the ability to rise up to any occasion.

Alhaji Salihu Abubakar, the Chief Operating Officer of the LMC, said this after the home-based Eagles defeated Mozambique 4-2 in the teams' second group game at the ongoing Championship of African Nations (CHAN) in South Africa.

Abubakar told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on telephone that not even the host team could stop the Eagles at this stage.

“Nigerian teams always go far any time we have difficult first round. I am sure they will pick up from here after losing 2-1 to Mali”.

“They lost the first match because they were tensed but the win against Mozambique will boost their morale,'' Abubakar said.

He added that the players needed pep talks and motivation to boost their morale in the last group game agaist South Africa.

Abubakar expressed the optimism that the Eagles would defeat the host nation, having beaten them in the past similar competitions.

The Eagles victory has set a stage on Sunday for their crucial encounter with hosts, South Africa, who already garnered four points from two matches.
