Lagos youths showcase talents in CY Unity Tourney

Lagos - All is now set for the take-off of the third edition of the CY Unity Cup as defending champions All Stars FC face the stiff test of junior star at the Concord pitch Mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos.

The draws for the tournament which took place in Lagos saw 24 teams been drawn in six groups for the competition billed to take place at the Concord playing pitch this weekend, while other matches will be played at both Owosheni and Concord playing pitches for the duration of the tournament.

All stars, who won the cup last year will start the defence of their title in the opener against Junior stars fc and it promises to be a tough one as both teams are well prepared for battle.

The Organizer, Cyprian Ukpai said the sponsors of the tournament CHEMSTAR Paints will continue to support the game of football in Lagos State and indeed Nigeria where youths show a lot of passion for the game.

“Our aim is to catch them young and make them future leaders.

“And for this tournament, the overall winner will go home with a trophy, cash prizes and other gift items.” he said

He further urged the teams to put in their best for the development of the game and make sure they give good account of themselves throughout the tournament.
