Leaders retain grip on Glo Premiership

Abuja - The status quo in the Glo Premiership has been maintained with the leading sides recording convincing victories in their weekend matches.

Leaders Enyimba maintain their leadership of the 20-team table with a 2-0 victory over relegation threatened Dolphins.

Close rivals, Warri Wolves are breathing down the leaders’ necks continued their form with a 3-0 whacking of Kwara United, who are not safe from relegation either.

The victories saw Enyimba remain on top of the log with 55 points from 29 games played while second placed Warri Wolves garnered 51 points from the same number of games played.

Elsewhere, Akwa United narrowly dismissed Heartland 1 - 0, FC Tarabaedged Giwa FC 1 - 0, Kano Pillars massacred Abia Warriors 3 - 0 while Rangers beat 3SC 2 - 1. 

In another harvest of goals, Bayelsa United thrashed El-Kanemi Warriors 4 - 1, Nasarawa United beat the hosts Sunshine Stars    3-2, while Sharks defeated FC Ifeanyiubah 1 – 0.

Lobi Stars and Wikki Tourists played to a 1-1 draw.
