Lagos - Nigerian midfielder, Lukman Haruna has set up a
football academy in Lagos to help young talented footballers achieve their
dream of making it big in the game.
The academy is managed by his brothers, Fatai and Akeem Haruna,
and the star player hinted that the project tagged ‘Hartoy Football Academy’ is
aimed at helping Nigerian young footballers at home and abroad.
Haruna first played football for Moderate Stars Academy and
Global Crystal Academy in Nigeria. He then signed for Ligue 1 side, AS Monaco
in January 2008 and it is understood he was eyed by a number of Europe's top
clubs including Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
On 25 May 2009, he signed his first professional contract
with AS Monaco that runs until 30 June 2012.
Following Monaco's relegation at the 2010–11 season, he
signed a five-year contract with Ukraine Premier League giants Dynamo Kyiv on
26 June 2011.
