Magical debut goal delights Godwin Saviour

14 September 2015, 12:27

Brussels - Nigeria youngster Godwin Saviour had an outstanding European debut on Saturday when he scored once for his Belgian club KV Oostende.

The ex-Nigeria U17 and U20 winger netted in the 87th minute for the De Kustboys after coming-on as a substitute seven minutes from time.

The 19-year-old wasn't the only Nigerian on the song for the visiting team as Joseph Akpala also found his scoring boots.

The victory ensures that Oostende stay in first position, three more than second-placed Anderlecht who are at home to Genk on Sunday.

“I am very very happy this evening for what has happened to me. It was my debut goal for my new club,” the youngster told News24.

Saviour could now be competing for the team's starting place in subsequent matches.

The highly-rated forward joined Oostende this summer from Jos-based side FC Sports.
