Abuja - Ahmed Gara Gombe, the proprietor of one of the clubs that was penalised for the recent match-fixing scandal that produced 146 goals in two games, has denied being affected by the 10-year-ban handed to his club, Bubayaro FC.
Gombe told Vanguard that it would have been against the principles of natural justice for him to be affected by the ban, especially since he took all precautionary measures to prevent the occurrence of the scandalous incident.
“As a person, I am not affected. I cannot be affected because I took all precautionary measures that could have forestalled what happened. It would have been against the principle of justice if they had extended the punishment to my person as only those who were present on the field of play could be punished,” he said.
