'Mba still a Wolf'

21 May 2013, 16:15Augustine Osayande

Abuja - Despite denials from Warri Wolves, their star Sunday Mba appears to be headed to rivals Enugu Rangers.

Mba has played for Rangers in the Caf Champions League.

But in a bizarre turn of events, Wolves denies the player has moved insisting, rather, unconvincingly, he was still their player.

According to a press statement signed by the club media officer Moses Etu, the club only released Mba to play for Rangers on the continent for national interest's sake.

"We want to use this opportunity to tell the whole world that we only gave Sunday Mba to Rangers for the continental assignment and are seriously waiting for a good offer from any interested club for the player who scored the goal that won Nigeria the Nations Cup,” read the statement.

"This clarification is necessary as a result of stories making the rounds that we have sold him to Rangers”.

Mba was one of the star as Nigeria won the Orange African Nations Cup earlier this year.
