Mfon Udoh convinced he was missed by Enyimba

06 August 2015, 17:12

Lagos - Enyimba marksman Mfon Udoh finally returned to the pitch on Wednesday when the People's Elephant tackled his former club Akwa United in the Glo Nigerian Premier League.

''I wasn't rushed by Enyimba. I missed playing football, it's something I love doing and I derive so much pleasure in it,'' said Mfon Udoh to news24.

''So I needed to be back to the game, I won't say I'm in total shape because I just resumed.

''I will be fully okay with a couple of games.''

While he was on the sidelines, the six-time Premier League champions have climbed to the top of the standings, but the Nigeria international has insisted that he was greatly missed by the club, nonetheless.

''Well, I think they missed my absence because I received several calls from them wanting me to come back. So I think they did,'' the 23-year-old added.

Before his spell on the treatment table, Mfon Udoh had netted four times in the top flight but did not add to his goal tally in the 2-2 draw with Akwa United at the Nest of Champions in Uyo.
