Musa proud of role in Moscow derby

17 August 2015, 10:57

Abuja - CSKA Moscow forward Ahmed Musa was thrilled with his club's derby win over rivals Spartak Moscow in a Russian Premier League match on Friday.

The game ended 2-1 in favour of the Railway men with Musa netting the second goal for his side at the Otkrytie Arena.

He told News24: "I think it has been a  perfect season for us so far. It was a big task for us against Spartak and we had to do a lot of running off the ball. But you can sense our team spirit is very high. We were desperate to win and I think it showed with the way we played."

"We had to grind the win out. They are a good team.

"It was a tough game and there wasn't much created, but we took our chances when we got them.

"We can build on the result. Confidence is high and we've got some big league games coming up.

"We've got to take this (form) into the Champions League qualifiers against Sporting CP. Every player is playing their part no matter what team or system the manager plays, and we're all enjoying it at the moment."
