Lagos - Former Gombe State FA chairman Shuaibu Ahmed Gara
Gombe has lambasted President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju
Pinnick after pictures emerged of him at the Wembley Stadium watching the
Community Shield game between Arsenal and Chelsea on Sunday, whilst two Nigeria’s
national teams were battling to represent the country at next year’s Olympic Games.
The Dream Team VI played a goalless draw against Congo in Pointe
Noire to qualify for the CAF U23 Championship to be hosted by Senegal, and the
Super Falcons lost 1-0 to Equatorial Guinea in Bata, consequently will not make
it to the Rio 2016 Olympics.

And despite the NFF playing down the development by saying
Pinnick is London for business purposes, Gombe has gone ahead to call out the
NFF boss, describing his action as ‘irresponsible’.
“It is called being irresponsible,” Gombe said in a radio
“He is running football as if there is no government in this
country. The National Sports Commission has a responsibility to know how they
(NFF) are using our resources.
“Who is even paying for all these trips? The other time he
was in London for so long and we were told he was there for medical treatment.
The other time he was in London to take pictures with Arsene Wenger. The other
time he was in London to take pictures with Sunday Oliseh while abandoning our
teams,” Gombe blasted.
