Abuja – Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Aminu
Maigari has categorically told the up-and-coming national Under-17 team to
follow the footsteps of their illustrious predecessors.
The Golden Eaglets are
record four-time winner at the
FIFA Under-17 World Cup following success at the 1985; 1993;2007 and 2013 editions
and Maigari has assured the current crop
of players being put together of the total support of the NFF.
"We have been monitoring your activities since you
started screening and I'm happy that you are making steady progress," said
"Once again, the NFF wants to assure the technical crew
to sustain the momentum because as the defending champions, a lot is expected
from you but be assured of our support always.”
Nigeria defeated Mali 2-0 in their opening game at the WAFU
B U17 Tournament currently taking place in Togo.
