NNWL sets deadline for registration

Lagos - The Nigeria Nation-Wide League (NNWL) has announced January 20, 2014 as deadline for the registration of clubs ahead the kick-off of the new season.

According to a letter sent to all participating clubs and forwarded to News24 Nigeria, the NNWL said it released a guideline for club registration on December 12, 2013, setting January 10 as closing date.

But the NNWL extended the time by one week (January 17), and has now warned that any club who fails to complete its registration on January 20 will pay a fine of fifty thousand naira (N50 000).

The NNWL has earlier entered a sponsorship agreement with Standard alliance Insurance PLC of N8.M annually for 3 years (total sum of 24 million for 3 years).

Also, the mandatory comprehensive insurance policy for all the League clubs and endorsement of Standard Alliance Insurance Company as Official Insurance company (Benefits: 250 000 for death, 250 000 for permanent injuries and 20 000 for injuries).

It has as well made mandatory, medicals check-up for all Nationwide League Clubs players and Officials to be supervised by the League Medical Officer.
